Currently there is no restaurant or bar, but clients are provided with a cooking area, firewood and kitchen utensils to make their meals.
Visitors to Chobe are advised to take precautions against mosquitoes and malaria like using insect repellents, using mosquito nets and consulting their health providers for appropriate anti malaria prophylactics.
You can reach the campsite even with a sedan vehicle as it is located 200m from the A33 tarred road, but a 4x4 vehicle would be mandatory if you want to do a game drive into the Chobe National Park with your own vehicle.
Yes there is Wi-Fi available for your basic needs and applications , not a very high speed, but you can send pictures, watch YouTube, emails, Zoom Conference, WhatsApp etc.
At the moment the lodge has limited electrical power based on solar. The office is able to charge light loads like phones,laptops, cameras etc. There is currently no power point at individual camp pitches or sites.
The campsite relies on borehole water which is Ok to drink and other uses, but it is hard water and you may want to bring your own drinking water.
Lorato Lodge and Camping is located in a wildlife area or near the Chobe National Park, so animals do come around the campsite, but there is an electric fence to keep out dangerous animals, but it is not safe to walk outside the campsite at night, take precautions against elephants especially.
Our showers are room temperature, but we do heat water for clients to use for bathing in our special bathing basins on stands, very comfortable and refreshing.
At the moment we are unable to process cards and visitors are advised do bank transfer or cash.
